Essential Oils

Essential oils are certain oils extracted from plants. These oils have been used for centuries by healers. The two main purposes the oils have for me are scent and reducing problems.
Aromatherapy is designed to help stimulate the brain and produce positive emotions. Most oil blends naturally produce a soothing scent. Horses have a good sense of smell and the smell of plant essence is natural to them.
Remember, horses eat plants and are surrounded by plants in nature. I work hard on finding essential oils with the scent found in nature. Sage, rosemary and lavender are some examples.
Aromatherapy may help in reducing depression. Melissa and orange are usually associated with positive memories or emotions. Aromatherapy may also help in fatigue, reducing nervous tension or tension relief.
Oil blends may reduce physical problems. The blends are taken through the hair follicles and skin into the bloodstream. A few problems include muscle cramps, severe backache and joint pain. The oil blend is massaged into the skin and the skin soaks in the oil blends into the bloodstream.
I ask that you remember aromatherapy and oil blends are alternative techniques; they are not a cure. I enjoy researching and creating oil blends. It is important to me to find what essential oil mix works the best. The horses usually let me know if they like the oil treatment.
The aromatherapy is part of my massage service. If you want oil blends to be used, please let me know. Please be assured I never use unnatural products nor do I use chemicals for a massage. This is to insure the horse’s safety of health.
I welcome you to contact me. My clients and their owners are my best teachers.
