COMPASSION – THE KINDNESS OF MERCY’S ACTION

( One Woman’s Story )

‘For love is kindness – its mercy’s action

Compassion is the most precious and valuable gift that an individual can be bestowed with. Not nearly enough is spoken of, taught or celebrated concerning this treasured attribute. Yet the virtue of compassion quite remarkably, stirs a person with unrelenting passion to tangibly respond with mercy to any given need. Compassion’s objective is to always alleviate pain, sorrow or discomfort. In fact compassion behaves as a magnet to need, pain, sorrow or discomfort. Consider just for a moment the need and condition of any given community, city, nation or continent in the world –in any given relationship, circumstance or situation. There is at the very least a desire for, but in most cases, a valid necessity for this precious gift of compassion.

Vaughn Brown’s nature, lifestyle and character can be summarized by the word – compassion. From a young child born into humble beginnings he was divinely taught through his own trying experiences how to maintain at all times the Father’s heart of kindness and love which is so easily moved to compassion for those hurting and in need. Having suffered many stages of depravity as a child, Vaughn has allowed his heart to be conditioned to reach out resourcefully. His desire to serve mankind in sincerity and truth, makes him a firm believer that one only learns of another’s suffering to become the channel of alleviation to that concern. When traveling to the nations this genuine heart of servitude inspires Vaughn to immediately reach out to those trapped by insufficiency of need and destitution with real solutions and directives to harmonize individuals to holistic freedom and the fulfillment of their dreams.

In that time period, a young woman by the name of Lucy lived with her children in the Babonneau district of St. Lucia. Her home was little more than a shack where 10 children were all trying to survive in conditions that were so overwhelming for this burdened mother that on many days it took all of her strength and determination just to keep going on with life. Vaughn is greatly inspired and influenced by the parable of the Good Samaritan. He relates wholeheartedly to having an unconditional and immediate responsive heart for those who are suffering. When others would shrug their shoulders and believe that it was ‘just life’, Vaughn Brown’s pursuit to ‘make good happen’TM, would ensure he brought ‘life’ to any abeyant condition, hurting or despondent situation.

‘Mercy’s action always moves to compassion’

Samaritan’s Love was a project established by Vaughn during the time he served in St. Lucia. The project’s aim was to lovingly and tangibly reach those within the local communities with relevant necessities of almsgiving and personal solutions to alleviate the suffering of the most vulnerable. Following his caring example, volunteers from Vaughn’s mission team worked very closely with local residents and were always aware of the needs of families or individuals desperate to feel the compassionate arms of love extended to them.

Vaughn had met Lucy when he first arrived in St. Lucia a few years ago and she was already learning how to change her life for the better from the empowerment principles taught. Lucy learned through Dr. Brown’s teachings the significance of her destiny and by those principles believed could start a business in the neighboring island of Martinique, freeing her entire family from the constraints of insufficiency that bore so heavily upon her. Although Lucy had a great need for change she didn’t have the funding or the experience to raise capital herself. When Vaughn learned of Lucy’s predicament he was immediately moved with compassion and donated all the required funding for the business to be established. Lucy never dreamed that she would be able to escape the chains that had so onerously held her down. Her faith had been built through attending Vaughn’s ministry in learning to stand steadfastly upon the divine promises and principles taught. Lucy was now released from every pressing shackle of poverty to fulfill her destiny.

On many occasions during his formative years, Vaughn had dreamed for personal opportunities favoring him with compassion where a relevant Samaritan of goodwill would recognize and notice his sincere needs and reach out to alleviate his suffering. Instead, Vaughn has now become the answer he desired for himself, in the life of others.
